Wine: Chianti Rùfina D.O.C.G.
Grapes: Sangiovese 100%
Harvest: By hand into crates during the first half of October
Vinification: Grapes are harvested by hand then sorted out and totally destemmed. Ma-ceration is made and alcoholic fermentation lasts from 18 to 24 days in temperatures’ control vats, with punching of the cap. Malolactic fermentation is 100 % realized star-ting from January.
Ageing: 12 months in 45 hectoliter barrels of French oak, 6 months in bottle.
Sensory profile: Beautiful ruby/purple colour with dark purple tints. The nose is fresh, fruity & lively, characterized by a floral bouquet of red roses and violets togheter with fresh cherries and blackberries. It expresses a great finesse and minerality. On the palate, the wine develops some mint notes, eucalyptus and fresh fruits. Tannins are fine and silky. This powerful wine will require some time before expressing its full identity.
